Join Our Team as Events & Catering Manager at Motek Motek is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Events & Catering Manager to join our corporate team based in Miami Beach. Motek, part of the Happy Corner Hospitality Collective, is a celebrated Israeli-Mediterranean restaurant group with 7 locations across South Florida — including Coral Gables, Downtown Miami, Brickell, Aventura, Miami Beach, South Pointe, and our newest location in Boca Raton — plus upcoming expansion to New York City in Fall 2025. We also operate Yalla Motek, a certified kosher concept in Aventura Mall, and Sesame Bakery in North Miami.
About the Role As the Events & Catering Manager, you will oversee the planning, sales, and execution of both on-premise and offsite events, including full-service catering where we provide staffing, buffet setup, and full food service, therefore physical stamina and a hands-on approach are essential. This role includes both sales responsibilities and event management, working closely with our culinary and operations teams to ensure flawless execution and exceptional client service. This role includes commission and quarterly sales targets for both events and catering.
Key Responsibilities Sales & Outreach
Respond promptly to inbound event and catering inquiries.
Conduct proactive outreach to businesses, offices, and residential buildings to generate new leads.
Work toward quarterly sales goals and maximize commission opportunities through upselling.
Customer Service
Communicate professionally and warmly with all clients and guests.
Gather detailed event information (guest count, preferences, logistics).
Offer thoughtful upsells and add-on options based on client needs.
Menu Planning
Collaborate with chefs to curate menus aligned with client preferences, dietary needs, and brand standards.
Ensure all menu options meet our quality expectations and presentation guidelines.
Event Execution
Oversee event setup, buffet arrangements, menu printing, and décor when applicable.
Be on-site as the main point of contact during key events to ensure smooth operations.
Coordinate with store managers for detailed BEO recaps and ensure proper execution across locations.
Resource & Team Management
Maintain inventory and manage supply orders to support upcoming events.
Coordinate schedules and staffing across venues and events.
Train and supervise team members to uphold service excellence.
Reporting & Compliance
Monitor expenses, cost controls, and revenue performance.
Ensure strict compliance with all food safety and sanitation regulations.
Provide post-event feedback and performance analysis to improve future operations.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent (required); Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality or Business (preferred).
Minimum 5 years in events, catering, or hospitality sales.
Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
Hands-on experience managing events, staff, and catering logistics.
Proficiency in Tripleseat, POS systems, and Microsoft Office Suite.
Ability to drive, lift/carry equipment, and remain active during long event days.
Fluency in English; Spanish is a plus.
